Before You Climb

Fitness Level

All climbs require good cardiovascular fitness. You should be comfortable hiking 6-8 hours with a heavy pack. For peaks above 6,000m, prior altitude experience is essential.

Experience Required

Ishinca and Pisco are suitable for fit beginners with no climbing experience. Huascarán requires prior glacier experience. Alpamayo requires technical ice climbing skills.

Essential Gear

We provide technical climbing gear (ropes, harnesses, crampons, ice axes). You bring: mountaineering boots (B2/B3), warm layers, down jacket, sleeping bag (-15°C), headlamp, sun protection.
